Where the facts come from

  • The Pan American Gymnastics Union's own September 2014 qualification lists for the 2015 Pan American Games, read from the copies kept by the Internet Archive.
  • The FIG's published history (for the union's founding in Cali in 1971) and the official website of the union, upag-pagu.com, for the disciplines it governs.
  • Wikipedia's articles on gymnastics at the Pan American Games and the Pan American Gymnastics Championships, in English and Spanish, checked against the documents they cite.
  • The Toronto 2015 organising committee's sport technical manuals, as cited by those articles, for quota sizes and entry limits.

Where sources disagree we say so or leave the detail out, and every page shows when it was last updated. Corrections are welcome and are made as soon as a better source is found.

Independence and advertising

Pan Am Gymnastics Guide is not a sports body. It has no connection with the Pan American Gymnastics Union, the International Gymnastics Federation, Panam Sports or any national federation, and it cannot register athletes, publish official results or answer for any of them. The site is paid for by display advertising, which is always labelled.

The history of this domain

From about 2011 to the mid-2010s upag-gymnastics.com carried a Joomla website of the Pan American Gymnastics Union in English and Spanish, with competition calls, regulations, results and the 2014 qualification lists for the Toronto 2015 Games. The union later moved to upag-pagu.com and this domain lapsed; for a time it showed unrelated parking and spam pages. Pan Am Gymnastics Guide is a new project with no connection to any earlier operator, and links that once pointed to the old site's documents now lead to pages that explain them.

Pan Am Gymnastics Guide is an independent reference site. It is not the Pan American Gymnastics Union (UPAG/PAGU), whose official website is upag-pagu.com, and it is not affiliated with the union, the FIG, Panam Sports or any previous operator of this domain.
